idiots

“You know, you were stupid to fight Mihawk. And you were lucky to come out of it alive,” Nami said, sipping on the strawberry smoothie Sanji had made her. They were all on the Merry, en route to their next island. The sun was shining and the ocean’s subdued waves gently rocked the Merry along.

Zoro finished up his bicep curls before placing the dumbbell down. “Whatever. I don’t regret it.”

Nami raised an eyebrow. “Well then, you’re a bigger fool than I initially took you for.”

With clenched fists, Zoro huffed. “Tch. I’m not a fool. I learned a lot that day; how far the gap between me and him is.”

Placing her smoothie on the small table by her sunlounger, Nami sat up. “And almost lost your life in the process! How can you be okay with that?”

Zoro crossed his arms. “Well, I didn’t die, did I? If I had, it would’ve just meant I was too weak,” he said, as if it was a perfectly reasonable explanation.

Nami threw her hands up in the air. “Ugh. You are infuriating. Why do I even bother?”

Zoro just shrugged, before resuming his weight training.

Muscleheads, Nami thought, and not for the first time she found herself wishing for someone level-headed to talk to on the ship. Usopp was probably her best bet—at least he had a sense of self-preservation.

But that thought was quickly ruined when Usopp came running across the deck screaming and flailing as a crab had hold of his nose. Luffy was right behind Usopp, laughing almost to the point of tears.

Nami was surrounded by idiots. Truly.
