1: Kiba<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cHey Sasuke. Have you seen my socks? I can\u2019t find any pairs,\u201d Naruto called out. Kiba watched as his friend up-ended everything from his sock drawer. At this rate they were going to be late to class.<\/p>\n

\u201cCheck the drying rack. I washed some the other day,\u201d Sasuke called back. Kiba raised an eyebrow at this but said nothing. Huh. They do each other\u2019s washing?<\/em><\/p>\n

Naruto did as instructed and much to both his and Kiba\u2019s delight found that there were indeed pairs of socks on the drying rack. He grabbed a pair, putting them on with great speed before grabbing his backpack. Kiba checked the time on his phone \u2014 they would make it in time if they ran. Naruto dashed past Sasuke \u2014 who was sitting on the couch with a book in his lap \u2014 but not before squeezing his shoulder first.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks, babe,\u201d he said, putting his shoes on at the front door of their apartment.<\/p>\n

Sasuke hummed in response, not bothering to look up from his book. \u201cHave a good day.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will. Come on, Kiba,\u201d Naruto said. Kiba followed after him, not sure if he had heard correctly. Did Naruto just call Sasuke \u2018babe\u2019? And did Sasuke really not react to it?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

When they got to class, they found the professor was running late. Kiba seized the opportunity; he turned to Naruto.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo you and Sasuke, hey?\u201d he said, wiggling his eyebrows, but Naruto was too busy looking at his phone and typing something.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat about us?\u201d Naruto said, after he pocketed his phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen did you get together?\u201d<\/p>\n

Naruto tilted his head. \u201cAs roommates? Is your memory really that bad? First year, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kiba frowned. Was Naruto really this dense? Or\u2014 Oh<\/em>. Maybe they weren\u2019t ready to announce their relationship. That was cool. Kiba could respect that. He could wait.<\/p>\n

\u201cUh.. yeah. Sorry. I\u2019m getting old,\u201d Kiba said.<\/p>\n

Naruto raised an eyebrow. \u201cYou\u2019re 21.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kiba just laughed but was quickly silenced when their professor walked in.<\/p>\n

Naruto and Sasuke were together huh? About time.<\/em><\/p>\n

2: Sakura<\/b><\/p>\n

Sakura had just bought some snacks to take to Naruto and Sasuke\u2019s and was on her way there when she received a text from Naruto himself.<\/p>\n

let yourself in. the door\u2019s unlocked<\/em><\/p>\n

Random, but okay she would do that.<\/p>\n

Sakura first met Naruto when he had visited Sasuke at the music store they worked at three years ago. Naruto had crushed on her immediately and they tried dating only it didn\u2019t go so well. Despite that, the friendship she had built with him and Sasuke since then meant a lot to her.<\/p>\n

When she finally arrived at their apartment and spotted them on the couch, she could see why the text was sent. Sasuke was fast asleep on the couch, curled into Naruto\u2019s chest. It was kind of adorable, actually. Though it looked far too intimate to be something between just friends. But she supposed Naruto and Sasuke\u2019s friendship had always been.. special.<\/p>\n

\u201cBabe. Sakura\u2019s here,\u201d Naruto said, gently nudging Sasuke. And wow. Sakura didn\u2019t know Naruto could speak so softly and fondly. He hadn\u2019t even been like that to her when she dated him.<\/p>\n

Sasuke slowly woke to peer up at Sakura, but didn\u2019t move from his curled up position on Naruto.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey Sakura,\u201d he said before pulling the blanket off himself. In doing so, he revealed that he and Naruto were holding hands.<\/p>\n

They truly were ridiculous, she thought. They acted more in love than she did with Ino\u2014 and that was hard to top considering her and Ino were actually in a very loving relationship.<\/p>\n

Unless?<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you guys have something to tell me?\u201d she asked, placing her bag of snacks on the coffee table and sitting on the adjacent sofa. A superhero film was playing on the television.<\/p>\n

Naruto frowned. \u201cLike?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour love lives?\u201d<\/p>\n

Naruto and Sasuke shared a look and then Naruto burst out laughing. \u201cWhat love lives?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sasuke sat up. Sakura noted that while they had separated to either ends of the couch, Naruto\u2019s legs were in Sasuke\u2019s lap. \u201cTwo single guys watching Black Panther together on a Saturday night. Clearly we have very active love lives,\u201d Sasuke said, chuckling.<\/p>\n

Oh my god. They don\u2019t even know.<\/em> Sakura didn\u2019t know how this level of obliviousness was even possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys are hopeless,\u201d was all she said. But she would leave them to it. They would figure it out in time, or so she hoped. She grabbed a bag of chips from the bag she brought and ripped them open. \u201cLet\u2019s watch Stranger Things after this.\u201d<\/p>\n

3: Itachi<\/b><\/p>\n

It was Itachi\u2019s birthday. Sasuke had invited him around to celebrate with a homemade dinner. Itachi thought this was peculiar; normally Sasuke sent him a card and a novel he recommended, which he had also done this time but the invite had been included too. Sasuke didn\u2019t tend to deviate from traditions, so there must have been another factor.<\/p>\n

When he arrived at the apartment, he discovered that other factor. It was Naruto.<\/p>\n

Itachi and Naruto got along really well, despite only officially meeting at the beginning of Sasuke\u2019s third year at university. But Itachi could see right through not only his brother, but his roommate too.<\/p>\n

As they sat at the dining table, Naruto said, \u201cSasuke\u2019s really glad we could celebrate your birthday like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sasuke stiffened as he dished out the dinner \u2014 it was satay chicken. \u201cYeah,\u201d he said but it was a moment too slow.<\/p>\n

Itachi smiled. Perfect opportunity to fluster them a bit. \u201cI\u2019m glad too. I must say, the invite was a surprise, Sasuke. What led you to invite me here?\u201d He pierced a piece of satay chicken with his fork.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour birthday, obviously,\u201d Sasuke said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had many birthdays, Sasuke. Why is this one any different?\u201d Itachi said and brought the food to his mouth.<\/p>\n

Sasuke sighed and took his seat. \u201cFine. Naruto insisted.\u201d<\/p>\n

That was more like it.<\/p>\n

\u201cOw! What did you do that for?\u201d Sasuke said to Naruto.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou weren\u2019t meant to tell him that!\u201d Naruto whispered, but it was well within Itachi\u2019s range.<\/p>\n

Naruto rubbed the back of his neck.<\/p>\n

They spent the next ten minutes eating in an awkward silence. It wasn\u2019t until Naruto stole a piece of chicken from Sasuke\u2019s plate that Itachi\u2019s interest was piqued. Sasuke had just let him. This was obviously a common occurrence. When there was only one piece left, though, the two of them eyed it up. Sasuke got to it first. Naruto just stuck his tongue out at him. How old were they?<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m actually full. I just wanted to beat you,\u201d Sasuke said and held his fork up to Naruto\u2019s mouth. Naruto gladly accepted the offering and took the fork in his mouth.<\/p>\n

After eating the last piece, Naruto grinned. \u201cThanks, babe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well. That was new \u2014 or at least new to Itachi. Were they always this close? Not only had Sasuke went along with Naruto\u2019s idea of inviting Itachi over, he had fed Naruto. Naruto stealing from his plate hadn\u2019t been new, but the fork feeding was. Plus the babe<\/em>? Oh this was going to be fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow long has it been since you were in a relationship, Naruto?\u201d<\/p>\n

Naruto scrunched up his face. \u201cProbably a few years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSame with you, Sasuke?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sasuke frowned, clearly more reluctant to divulge this information but he eventually nodded.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou both must miss being in one,\u201d Itachi said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot really,\u201d Naruto said, shrugging. \u201cNot when I\u2019ve got a best mate like Sasuke to keep me entertained,\u201d he said, throwing an arm around Sasuke with a grin on his face.<\/p>\n

Sasuke rolled his eyes, but not even he could hide his fondness.<\/p>\n

Absolute fools.<\/em><\/p>\n

He turned to Itachi. \u201cWhat are you getting at, brother?\u201d<\/p>\n

He wondered how much longer it would take these two to come to terms with their relationship. They had been roommates for nearly three years, after all.<\/p>\n

Itachi stood. \u201cNothing. Dinner was pleasant. Thank you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEh? You\u2019re leaving already? We got you cake!\u201d Naruto said.<\/p>\n

Itachi smiled at him. \u201cSorry. Work calls. Please do enjoy it for me, though.\u201d He grabbed his coat from the hook by the door and slipped it on. \u201cBye Sasuke. Naruto.\u201d<\/p>\n

4: Neji<\/b><\/p>\n

It was a good thing Neji was used to sleeping on Sasuke and Naruto\u2019s couch. They had been at Kiba\u2019s party, celebrating the end of exams, and Sasuke had actually lived a little and drunk more than he usually did. Neji had a few \u2014 the same as Naruto. Fast forward a few hours later and Sasuke could barely walk properly. It took the combined efforts of Naruto and Neji to walk him home to the apartment.<\/p>\n

Once they got into the apartment, they dropped Sasuke onto his bed. Naruto turned to Neji. \u201cThanks, Neji. You can stay in my old room if you want. We converted it to a spare bedroom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Neji furrowed his eyebrows. \u201cWait. Where will you sleep?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn here,\u201d Naruto said like it was obvious. He got to work on taking Sasuke\u2019s boots off, followed by his jacket and jeans.<\/p>\n

So many questions were running through Neji\u2019s head, but it was too hard to process those thoughts while drunk. He would rather just sleep.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNight,\u201d Naruto said as he tucked Sasuke into one side of the bed.<\/p>\n

\u201cNight,\u201d Neji said and headed to Naruto\u2019s old room.<\/p>\n

\u2014<\/p>\n

Neji was the first to wake that morning and without a hangover too, he mentally cheered. As he went into the kitchen for some water, he recalled Naruto saying his bedroom was now the spare bedroom. That he and Sasuke shared a bedroom now.<\/p>\n

Strange. Since when had they become a couple?<\/p>\n

As if his thoughts could be heard, Naruto woke up and joined Neji in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

\u201cUgh, hangover,\u201d he said before pouring himself some water and reaching for the paracetamol at the top of the pantry.<\/p>\n

Neji sat at the barstool and watched his friend down the painkillers. \u201cSince when did you and Sasuke start dating?\u201d Neji asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cHuh? We\u2019re not,\u201d Naruto said.<\/p>\n

Huh.<\/em> \u201cBut you share a bed? And converted your old room to a guest bedroom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Naruto nodded. \u201cOh that. Yeah, it\u2019s no big deal. We figured Sasuke\u2019s bed is big enough for the both of us. We\u2019ve shared it many times before. This way we can rent out my old room.\u201d<\/p>\n

Interesting.<\/em> Neji didn\u2019t think they were short for rent money. They had made it work for three years already. But who was he to know.<\/p>\n

Sasuke emerged from the bedroom and walked into the kitchen in just his underwear. He wrapped his arms around Naruto\u2019s waist and hooked his chin over Naruto\u2019s shoulder.<\/p>\n

\u201cMorning, babe,\u201d Naruto said.<\/p>\n

Babe?<\/em> And what was with the intimacy? Sure, they\u2019d always been close, but this took the cake.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got the worst hangover,\u201d Sasuke said.<\/p>\n

Naruto refilled the glass he had used with water and popped two more painkillers from the packet before turning in Sasuke\u2019s arms. \u201cHere,\u201d he said, offering the medicine and water to him.<\/p>\n

Sasuke took the proffered items, downing them quickly. He put the glass down and wrapped his arms back around Naruto. Neji watched as Sasuke\u2019s hands brushed just under Naruto\u2019s shirt. \u201cYou feel so warm,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Naruto grinned. \u201cProbably because I was little spoon for once last night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Neji refrained from reacting, his face remained as passive as ever. Now they were just taking the piss. Did they honestly expect Neji to believe they weren\u2019t a couple?<\/p>\n

He finished his glass of water and gathered his wallet, phone, and keys from where he had left them on the coffee table.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks for letting me crash last night. I better head out,\u201d Neji said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo worries! Thanks for helping me lug this one home,\u201d Naruto said.<\/p>\n

Sasuke rolled his eyes. \u201cI was fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, yeah. Keep telling yourself that. Doesn\u2019t change the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Neji just shook his head and headed for the door. \u201cSee you later,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Neji wasn\u2019t fooled by Naruto\u2019s words. They were clearly in love. They were either very deep in denial or just making a fool of Neji. Neji assumed the former; they were his friends, after all. Just very oblivious ones at that. He hoped they got their shit together before either of them ended up heartbroken.<\/p>\n

5: Date Night<\/b><\/p>\n

It was time for the monthly date night Naruto and Sasuke organised with their friends. They usually had dinner together somewhere cheap but nice. It was called date night because it was all couples who went, save for Naruto and Sasuke \u2014 the only ones not in a relationship. There was Ino and Sakura, Kiba and Hinata, and Neji and Gaara.<\/p>\n

Tonight they had chosen a Korean barbecue restaurant. It was a fairly popular place and it was their second time going there as a group.<\/p>\n

Naruto and Sasuke were last to arrive and found everybody already seated at the restaurant. \u201cHey!\u201d Naruto said as he and Sasuke brought two chairs over so they could sit at the end of the booth.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey! What kept you guys? We\u2019re starving!\u201d Kiba said.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust Naruto being his usual unorganised self,\u201d Sasuke said while looking at Naruto, hint of a smile to his lips.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, yeah. Blame me,\u201d Naruto said, poking his tongue out at Sasuke. He turned to the rest of the table. \u201cLet\u2019s order some meat!\u201d<\/p>\n

They ordered both beef and pork and the waitress brought it all over to them about five minutes later.<\/p>\n

Everyone got to work on cooking their meat. They laughed over everything, from Rock Lee\u2019s latest attempt at woo\u2019ing Sakura to Naruto and Kiba\u2019s eccentric English Lit professor. They always had a good time.<\/p>\n

Naruto finished cooking a third piece of pork and picked it up with his chopsticks and proceeded to feed it to Sasuke. When Sasuke finished chewing and finally swallowed he picked up a piece of beef with his chopsticks and returned the favour. The chatter died down and Naruto turned to see everyone at the table was staring at the two of them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat?\u201d Naruto said, swallowing the beef.<\/p>\n

\u201cUgh. When are you just gonna come clean and admit that you\u2019re dating?\u201d Ino said.<\/p>\n

Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other, twin confused on their faces. \u201cHuh?\u201d they both said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSakura told me how snuggled up you two were together the other week.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIno!\u201d Kiba said. \u201cLet them announce their relationship when they\u2019re ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

Naruto chuckled awkwardly. \u201cUh, there is no relationship to announce?\u201d<\/p>\n

Kiba looked taken aback. \u201cYeah, right. You do each other\u2019s washing! You come to \u2018date night\u2019 together, and you call each other babe!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo?\u201d Sasuke said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou cuddle up on the couch together as if you were a couple and you were even just feeding each other!\u201d Sakura said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone,\u201d Neji said, all the attention turning to him.<\/p>\n

Yes, someone who speaks some sense, <\/em>Naruto thought.<\/p>\n

Neji wiped his mouth with his napkin. \u201cYou\u2019re forgetting the most crucial fact: they share a bed now.\u201d<\/p>\n

All the eyes at the table widened and simultaneous cries of \u201cWhat!\u201d could be heard.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you guys banging?\u201d Kiba said.<\/p>\n

Naruto\u2019s face turned bright red. \u201cNo! We\u2019re sharing a bed so we can rent my old room out and make some extra money. It\u2019s as simple as that.\u201d<\/p>\n

But no one looked convinced.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just friends!\u201d Naruto insisted, flustered.<\/p>\n

It was Gaara who intervened and suggested they change the topic. Naruto was relieved but couldn\u2019t help but feel awkward the remainder of the night. He wondered if Sasuke felt the same.<\/p>\n

After they left the restaurant, Neji whispered something to Sakura. Sakura came up behind Sasuke and wrapped her arms around him and hooked her chin on his shoulder. Naruto frowned, finding himself irked by the movement. He wasn\u2019t sure why.<\/p>\n

\u201cUh.. What are you doing?\u201d Sasuke asked, pulling away from Sakura. Naruto raised an eyebrow. Everyone knew Sasuke wasn\u2019t a touchy-feely person.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou wouldn\u2019t mind if it was Naruto,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Sasuke\u2019s cheeks lit up. \u201cThat\u2019s different,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow, Sasuke?\u201d<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s when it hit Naruto. Oh.<\/em> It is different. It had been such a gradual development over the course of their friendship that he had failed to notice.<\/p>\n

Naruto stopped walking. \u201cBecause I\u2019m in love with him,\u201d he said, looking Sasuke square in the eyes. Everyone else stopped in their tracks. \u201cAnd he\u2019s in love with me. I hope?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sasuke beamed. A sight that was rare and often reserved for Naruto\u2019s eyes only.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou two are such idiots,\u201d Sakura said, but she was smiling. .<\/p>\n

Naruto launched himself at Sasuke. Sasuke happily welcomed him into his arms and captured his lips in a kiss.<\/p>\n

\u201cSave it for the bedroom,\u201d Kiba said, but he was grinning.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s sweet,\u201d Hinata said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTook long enough,\u201d Gaara said.<\/p>\n

Naruto and Sasuke separated to walk side by side with the rest of the group, but their fingers remained intertwined.<\/p>\n

+1: Confirmation<\/b><\/p>\n

Kiba was growing frustrated. He had messaged Naruto an hour ago and the guy had left him on read. It wasn\u2019t anything major \u2014 just confirming they were still going to study together in the afternoon \u2014 but Naruto always<\/em> replied to messages as soon as he read them.<\/p>\n

Given everything that had happened at the restaurant the night before, though, Kiba really wanted to hear from him and make sure everything was okay.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure they\u2019re fine and enjoying their newfound relationship status,\u201d Hinata had tried to reassure him.<\/p>\n

Kiba sighed. She was right. \u201cI know.\u201d He read the message he\u2019d sent once more and was about to lock his phone when a new message came through from Naruto.<\/p>\n

Sorry. Can\u2019t make it. Raincheck?<\/em><\/p>\n

Kiba frowned. Naruto didn\u2019t normally type so formally. He sent a response.<\/p>\n

are u okay?<\/em><\/p>\n

When Kiba didn\u2019t get an immediate response he was about to call Naruto, but Hinata stole his phone from him.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s go out for coffee,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Kiba smiled. Hinata always knew how to distract him. \u201cOkay.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014<\/p>\n

When Kiba checked his phone a few hours later, it would appear his worrying was for nothing. Sasuke had composed a group message to everyone who was at dinner last night and attached a photo of him and Naruto shirtless in bed. It was captioned yeah, we\u2019re banging.<\/em><\/p>\n

Kiba was the first to respond. tmi!!!<\/em><\/p>\n

Ino: You were the one who asked them last night.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Kiba had no clever response.<\/p>\n

Sakura: Congrats guys. But never send me a cursed image like this again.<\/em><\/p>\n

Neji left the group chat without even responding.<\/p>\n

Hinata: <3<\/em><\/p>\n

Gaara: what Sakura said.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2014<\/p>\n

Naruto turned to Sasuke in bed after putting his phone down. \u201cMaybe we shouldn\u2019t have sent that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Sasuke snorted and let Naruto wrap himself around him. \u201cIt serves them right for being so nosy. Besides, they\u2019ve subjected us to many incidents that I would like burned from my memory.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. But still. I\u2019m grateful they knocked some sense into us,\u201d Naruto said, rubbing circles with his thumb on Sasuke\u2019s hip.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would\u2019ve figured it out.. Eventually.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these years we\u2019ve wasted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sasuke turned in Naruto\u2019s arms and pressed their lips together. They parted and Sasuke rested their foreheads together. \u201cWe have plenty of time to make up for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
